Introducing Guest Designer - Dr. Sonia

With great pleasure I introduce Dr. Sonia, our Guest Designer for this month.

Let's see Dr. Sonia's creations and a few words that she would like to share with us -

"Hi friends Dr Sonia here as Guest DT at Hands to Hearts. I will skip the customary words about myself to share something about 2 very important ladies in my life. The most important woman for almost all of us is our mother and mine is a highly educated, knowledgeable woman, a doctor, a high achiever, a strong willed courageous and independent individual but my layout salutes an entirely different kind of woman. This layout features my mothers younger sister with my daughter.

My aunt couldn't have kids of her own and despite all the opposition and stigma she had to face living in a village, she followed her heart and adopted a child from the orphanage, and that too a female child. She is not highly educated but she herself coaches her child to excel even in scholarship exams! She lives in a village and cannot drive but she takes the bus and even walks miles to take her daughter to extra curricular classes so that her child does not lack opportunities a city bred child has!

She is not a "working" woman but is the most hard working woman I know!
She is just an average Indian woman who faces everyday obstacles and bravely overcomes so many limitations to be an epitome of womanhood....cherished by one and all.

So here is my salute to an amazing woman. The white punchcraft flowers are made from parchment. I used a balloon punch to make all the pink punchcraft flowers! The "love always" is a stamped image highlighted with gel ink.

I am a novice at scrapbooking so please forgive me if I went a bit overboard in this layout!

Thank you so much Vaibhavi for having me join you in this special theme of "Celebrating Womanhood"

    1. Thank you Juhi..yes even though in the west adoption is lauded and common in our country there is so much stigma and opposition to it . And I am so proud of my aunt for having adopted a female baby when having a daughter is still considered a burden in many parts of our country!
