Stamping Techniques

Here are some great techniques and stylish trends that I would like to share with you today to help you create artwork that stands out.

Layering stamped images, 3-D accents, brads, ribbon or other accessories leaves a fresh and exciting look on your card or layout. In the card shown below some buttons are stamped, cut out and attached directly on to the card while others are attached with a 3-D foam dot. Try replacing some of the stamped images with actual buttons to create a more cohesive look that still has variety.

Another great way to create artwork that is both professional looking and handmade is to combine stamped titles with handwritten journaling or add hand-stitched detail to your accent pieces. The scrapbook page shown below is a good example of this trend.

Try thinking outside the box by using stamped images and embellishments in an unexpected way. This makes an artwork look fresh and unique. The natural hemp used as a vine in the card below shows how using a thread and stamped images in a new way can make an exciting impact.

What you create and the way you create it says a lot about you as an artist and a person.
