Birthday Party Banner

I had this urge to make my daughter's party banner and so I spent most of my day working on this project.

I started off with selecting 8 different double sided patterned papers. Then I took the cutting mat and coluzzle circle template; and cut several pieces of 4-1/2" circles and a few 2-1/2" circles. Here is how they look after cutting -

Next I cut the edge of all small circles with a corner rounder to create the shape of a flower. I coordinated all circles and arranged them together for my next step.

I stamped the alphabets in Cocoa ink using CTMH Building Blocks alphabet set. After the stamping was done, I glued the small pieces of circles to the big pieces.

Next, I took out a flourish from Western Flourishes stamp set and stamped it alternatively around the alphabets. I also stamped a tiny flower on all small circles using Aspirations stamp set.

Once I finished the "Happy Birthday" Banner, I started off with Ilisa's name banner. I wanted to give this a slightly different look. So I took out a flower from Flower Delights stamp set and stamped three images on a white paper. I stamped the images with Hollyhock, Bamboo, Chocolate & Cocoa Inks using base and shade technique. I also used the second generation stamping technique in one of the images to give a lighter look to one of the flowers. After cutting the edges of the flower, I added a really small flower from Aspirations stamp set in the center. Finally I added a brad on each of the three flowers.

The last step to making this banner was to add eyelets and ribbons. It took me 3-4 hours to make this entire project.

Finally, I tucked it to the wall to see how it looks -

I thoroughly enjoyed making this banner especially because its my first attempt to make a party banner and that too for my daughter's party!
